What to expect from OHSA
Hazards involving material handling can lead to serious worker injuries and even death. In particular, workers are at risk of injuries resulting from being struck by, caught between, or crushed by materials, equipment, lifting devices or vehicles. Workers are also at risk of developing musculoskeletal disorders, such as low back or shoulder injuries. Proper material handling prevents these types of injuries. The efficient handling and storing of materials are vital to industry. Activities involving material handling enable the supply of raw materials as well as a continuous flow of parts and assemblies through workplaces and ensure materials are available when needed. Employers are responsible for protecting workers from material handling hazards.

Single Girder Overhead Bridge Cranes

Single Girder Top Running Overhead Cranes are designed to travel on top of a runway system that can be either supported by engineered columns or existing building columns. Our collaborative approach ensures that the Overhead Crane System you select exceeds your expectations for not only quality but reliability.

Single Girder Under Running cranes, or “underhung” cranes, use wheels that are supported by the bottom flange of the runway beam to move the bridge up and down the runway. Under running cranes are most commonly used in a single girder design for lighter service and lower-capacity applications. These cranes utilize an under running hoist and trolley which moves across the bottom flange of the bridge beam.

Double Girder Overhead Bridge Cranes

Double Girder Top Running Overhead Cranes are designed to travel on top of a runway system, supported by engineered columns or existing building columns. These double girder systems can provide a better lift height compared to other systems because the system travels between the top of two beams.

Liftsafe Engineering also offers Double Girder Under Running Overhead Cranes ideal for facilities lacking excess vertical clearance while also requiring extra capacity. Although this type of crane is rare, our team of in-house engineers has the capability and experience of designing double girder under running cranes as a complete lifting solution with better lift height between the two beams.
