TRAINING

Lifesafe Engineering ensures an improvement in the quality of your work environment by supplying products, services and training, to improve production and to prevent injuries. Training is necessary to ensure that employers are providing "the knowledge, training, and experience to organize the work and its performance." The Ontario Health and Safety Act clearly defines the duty of the employer is to "provide the information, instruction, and supervision to a worker."

Lifesafe will ensure that the requirements in the OHSA and CSA are properly conveyed to your employees. We will define the legislation and standards, what the responsibilities of the workers are, and tailor the training to your specific industry and work environment. Training will make your employee more:

  • aware of hazards
  • capable in their day to day duties
  • reduce downtime and injuries

Crane Training

Lifesafe Engineering offers an overhead crane training course that is designed to increase awareness for the crane operator, and illustrates safe operator procedures and techniques. This exercise will maintain the integrity of the equipment and identify any potential crane or hoist failures that may arise and cause safety concerns or production "downtime".

  • This course will allow the operator to become familiar with:
  • Basic crane functions, procedures and terminologies
  • Proper procedures to allow him/her to perform a standard "Pre-Shift Inspection" to ensure functions and safety features are in good working order prior to lifting any loads
  • Be aware of surrounding safety hazards to ensure their safety and the safety of fellow employees is maintained when a crane is in service

Manlife Training
(Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platforms)

Depending on the job site and applications, Lifesafe Inspections Inc. has created a series of Manlife training courses to give your company the extra insurance you need.

The training will be approximately 4 hours in length and will include:

  • Legislation and Inspection techniques
  • Usage and training video (Skyjack)
  • Practical application (customer supplied machine)
  • Operation and Limitations of each class
  • Short Quiz and discussion

These courses in conjunction with other related courses (Fall Arrest, ROT Propane, etc) can give the confidence an employee needs to perform efficiently and effectively while on an Elevated Platform.

Fall Arrest Training

Lifesafe Engineering offers a Fall Arrest Training Program that is hands on and fun! We teach your employee legislation and proper work practices using a training video, group discussion, and activities demonstrating the equipment.

The course teaches the ABCD's of fall protection and discusses:

  • Anchroage
  • Body Support
  • Connectors
  • Deceleration

We discuss the big questions. Where and how do I tie off? What equipment shout I use, when do I have to use this equipment? How does the legislation effect me?

Life Truck Training

Life trucks have the potential for damaging property, as well as injuring your employees Operator training is essential and required for the reduction and elimination of lost time due to illnesses and injuries related to Life Truck Operations.

The course will include the following:

  • Legal Requirements
  • Operating Procedures
  • Load Center and Stability
  • Safety and Health Hazards
  • Pre-Start Safety check
  • Refueling
  • Evaluation

Course Duration

4 hours Theory, 30 minutes Practical.
Course will cover the following guidelines:
Ontario Health and Safety Act - including "competency requirements".
C.S.S. Standards B335-94 for Industrial Life Truck Operator Training"A.S.M.E. B56.1.A 195 American Society of Machanical Engineers.
