PRE-START HEALTH & SAFETY
The Pre-Start Health and Safety Review (PSHSR) Regulation for Industrial Establishments became effective on October 7th 2000.
- A PSR is a written report on the construction, addition, or installation of a new apparatus, structure, protective element or process, or modifications to an existing apparatus, structure, protective element or process.
- Lifting Devices, Racking Structures and Machine Guarding are eligible for PSR exemptions providing appropriate documentation is provided by the manufacturer, installer and/or a Professional Engineer.
- The employer is ultimately responsible for ensuring all devices are in compliance with the regulation.
